Dave Clifford, Equipment Technician
Dave Clifford is the equipment technician at Stowe Country Club. Dave was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia where his love of mechanics began. He started in the family auto repair business and soon began working for a custom car builder, Laminar Concepts. From Philadelphia, his love of snowboarding lured him to Middlebury, VT during the summer of 1999 where he began working at an Outdoor Retailer, The Alpine Shop. First as a ski tuner and then apprentice bicycle mechanic. Being mechanically minded and detail oriented, he quickly became head mechanic, and ultimately buyer and manager. From there, Dave spent almost two decades as a respected high end custom bicycle builder, knowledgeable mechanic, and then  business partner in a successful shop. After spending many years as a  professional bicycle mechanic, Dave decided  that a change was needed and joined Stowe Country Club to continue his passion of working with machinery. In a recent regional poll, he was voted the Best Bike Mechanic in the state. Dave lives in Hyde Park with his wife Susan and their dog pack: Gibson, Hawkeye, Bunny and Gumbo. In his spare time, Dave spends his time riding mountain bikes, motorcycles and skiing.
